Senior AI Architect / ML Engineer / AI Engineer (LLMs, .NET)
Help Build MAIA and Monitor’s Long-Term AI Foundation
Join us in developing MAIA (Monitor AI Assistant) and strengthening the AI capabilities behind one of Sweden’s leading ERP systems for manufacturing. In this role, you’ll work on meaningful, production-grade AI that supports real customers, with long-term commitment and practical impact.
About Monitor ERP & MAIA
Monitor ERP is a global product company with 50 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Our ERP system is developed in close collaboration with customers and is used daily by over 400,000 users across 6,000 manufacturing companies worldwide.
AI is already part of our product, and we are now continuing to strengthen our AI capabilities to deliver the next generation of intelligent, practical, and business-focused functionality for manufacturers.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution to turn AI opportunities into real, production-grade impact. Your work spans long-term architecture, everyday execution, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to team capability. This includes:
- Shape & Build: Translate business needs into technical strategies and lead hands-on implementation with clear quality standards.
- Deliver: Design, build, and ship AI/ML/LLM solutions that reach production - securely, reliably, and at scale.
- Collaborate: Work closely with product, engineering, data, and operations teams to turn ideas into measurable customer value.
- Strengthen the Team: Mentor colleagues, share insights and learnings, and help grow a mature, responsible AI craft across the organization.
We’re growing our AI capabilities across several areas, and this role is part of a broader expansion. You don’t need to cover everything in depth, one or more streams is valuable, and we’ll align responsibilities with where you create the strongest impact.
AI Strategy & Architecture
- Define reference architectures for MAIA and AI‑enhanced product features.
- Lead build/buy/partner decisions, evaluation practices, and solution roadmaps.
ML / Deep Learning & MLOps
- Develop, evaluate, and productionize traditional ML and deep learning models.
- Establish pipelines, feature stores, monitoring, and observability for safe and scalable iteration.
AI Application Engineering (.NET/C#)
- Build AI‑integrated product features and services within our .NET/C# stack.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and a seamless user experience within Monitor ERP workflows.
Prompt Engineering & RAG
- Design prompts, tools, and evaluation loops; implement retrieval‑augmented generation with secure, responsible data access.
- Optimize latency, accuracy, and guardrails for enterprise‑grade use.
What You Bring
We value real impact more than perfect titles. If several of these describe you, we’d love to talk:
- Proven experience delivering AI/ML/LLM systems to production, preferably in complex or enterprise environments.
- Strength in one or more areas: architecture & strategy, ML/DL & MLOps, .NET/C# engineering, prompt engineering & RAG.
- Ability to balance depth with pragmatism, knowing when to research, when to design, and when to ship.
- Experience with security, reliability, performance, and observability in production environments.
- Collaborative leadership: mentoring others, enabling teamwork, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Curiosity, humility, and a drive to learn and continuously improve, bringing modern and responsible AI practices into everyday work.
Personal qualities matter to us, and we’re looking for someone who aligns with our values: down‑to‑earth, committed, and long‑term thinking.
Why This Is Exciting
- Immediate impact: Your work directly contributes to MAIA and new AI capabilities used by thousands of manufacturing companies.
- Shape the foundation: Influence architecture, standards, and long-term practices across data, models, tooling, and governance.
- Influence & autonomy: Help guide key technical choices and contribute to the roadmap for AI at Monitor.
- Develop others: Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and help build internal capability that lasts.
- Meaningful product: Build AI that supports real manufacturers in achieving better operations, tangible impact, not theoretical demos.
